BURNOUT AND HOW TO PREVENT AND TREAT IT

The word burnout is used lightly but it is an insidious situation that happens over time, sometimes they symptoms are present for years before the full effects of burnout bring you to a halt or to a decision to drastically change your life.

The key is to identify your early symptoms and to prevent the drastic effects of long term stress cause which can result in ‘burnout’. Many times it starts with your thoughts that may be unconsciously driving you. Once you change your thoughts you can change your life.

I work with people who push themselves so hard emotionally, physically and psychologically to either stay in toxic jobs, relationships, in schedules that don’t allow them to balance  their wake and sleep hours, financial goals that are tempting but are taking a toll on their relationships, health and or life balance.

Why? Burnout can be caused by a lack of control over your work/job situation, health situation, family and or relationship situation.

According to the Mayo Clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/adult-health/in-depth/burnout/art-20046642 some consequences  of burnout are:

Excessive stress
Fatigue
Insomnia
Sadness, anger or irritability
Alcohol or substance misuse
Heart disease
High blood pressure
Type 2 diabetes
Vulnerability to illnesses

If you have some of these symptoms, I can help you to address the causes, symptoms and ways to improve your overall well being with a personalized approach to your situation. Now is the best time to address your life and improve your outcome and prevent burnout and to be happier, healthier and feel more in control of your life.
