How to maintain a youthful brain and continue to be physically active, and social, into your 60’s, 70’s and 80’s? According to Deepak Chopra, MD and Dr. Rudolph E. Tanzi, Ph.D in their book The Healing Self  it is possible.

I help people now at any age to move in that direction with Optimal Mental Health and Anti-Aging coaching,

We don’t want to just  live longer, but want to live with vitality, purpose, good health and contribution, love and compassion. I have been encouraging my clients for decades to accept that it is possible with 9 basic principals. Prevention before symptoms appear is important. Wellness is a way of life, a way of believing that wellness is our natural state, not disease.

In the book Ikigai by H. Garcia and F. Miralles their research found healthy lifestyle habits in the Blue Zones that contribute to health and longevity. Some factors include staying active (any type of physical activity as part of your lifestyle is important). Being social, find a tribe (like minded people)  who have healthy habits.  Eating natural foods with small meals in moderation and intermittent fasting at night are important. Having  faith in something, taking an afternoon nap, meditating , attending worship or anything that feeds your soul helps with longevity. And Drinking alcohol in moderation one or two glasses a day with friends can be healthy. Doing what you love is another component of living a healthy vibrant lifestyle into your  60’s, 70’s and 80’s . Keeping your life balanced is so important in treating anxiety and depression also.
